. . .& something different
Darkness!-Aged Bathtub Gin (Aberlour) (Batshit Mental Ideas)
What do you get if you mature some Bathtub Gin in a cask which previously held Pedro Ximénez Sherry and used to finish the Darkness! Aberlour single malt Scotch whisky? Well, this. You get this, and this is pretty bloomin' awesome to say the least. Another madcap release from the Batshit Mental Ideas range.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose: Juniper still leads the way before the marriage of the other botanicals and the cask influence emerges with sweet and creamy vanilla, iced bakewell tarts, lots of cinnamon, and green (and red?) apples. Christmas cake vibes.
Palate: Caramelised red apples with the clove in the Bathtub Gin finding a kindred note from the Darkness! Aberlour to stud an orange with.
Finish: Rounded mixed caramelised peels.
Overall: Markedly sweeter than the ex-Darkness! Macallan cask-aged Bathtub Gin, the ex-Darkness! Aberlour cask used here was, like the Macallan one, also an ex-ex-Pedro Ximénez cask. Got it?
